Magisat.io, known for its peer-to-peer marketplace for rare satoshis, has launched a new Inscribe Tool that enables users to inscribe on rare sats in three simple steps. Historically, targeting a specific “rare” satoshi for an Ordinal inscription was technically difficult, as standard wallets treat all sats identically. The Inscribe Tool eliminates this complexity with an intuitive interface that anyone can follow, from basic setup to advanced options. Now anyone – from experienced collectors to newcomers – can inscribe content onto rare satoshis with ease.
Step 1: Basic Settings

Step 1: Basic Settings
In Step 1: Basic Settings, users choose the format or method for their inscription. The tool provides three options at this stage: Text Format, Files/Image, or Delegate. Text Format allows the user to inscribe plain text directly onto a satoshi. Files/Image enables uploading an image or other file to be inscribed on the blockchain. The Delegate option offers a managed solution, outsourcing the inscription process to a third-party service on the user’s behalf.
Step 2: Advanced Settings

Step 2: Advanced Settings
The next step, Advanced Settings, has optional fields for advanced use cases. Here, users can specify a Reinscription ID to re-inscribe a previous inscription if desired. They may also enter a Parent Inscription ID to link the new inscription as a “child” of a previous one, establishing provenance. Additionally, users can add custom Metadata (descriptive notes or attributes) and specify a Metaprotocol if the inscription should follow a particular standard. All these fields are optional; users can skip them to keep the process straightforward.
Step 3: Add Rare Sats

Step 3: Add Rare Sats
Finally, the user selects the specific satoshis that will carry the inscription. The Inscribe Tool integrates with Magisat’s rare sats catalog, allowing selection from various rarity categories – Common, Rare, Epic, and others. A searchable dropdown menu lists all supported categories, from common sats to the rarest named variants, making selection simple.
Each category corresponds to a tier in the Ordinals rarity index. For example, “Rare” sats are the first mined after a difficulty adjustment, whereas “Epic” sats are the first after a Bitcoin halving. The user simply picks a category (or a specific named satoshi) from the list, and the tool automatically allocates an available satoshi of that type for the inscription. This automation makes it effortless to inscribe on rare sats, since the platform handles all the complex UTXO selection behind the scenes.
