Our experience at the Bitcoin Amsterdam Conference 2024
The Bitcoin Amsterdam Conference took place from October 8 to 10, 2024, at Westerpark in the heart of Amsterdam. It was a massive gathering of Bitcoin enthusiasts and professionals, attracting major players in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Projects focused on mining, marketplaces, ordinals, and exchanges like Kraken were well-represented, contributing to the conference’s significance within the crypto community.
The conference brought together a blend of influential thought leaders, developers, and companies focused on Bitcoin innovation. Notable sessions included the Mining Economics & Outlook presented by Nico Smid, discussions on Bitcoin self-custody led by Kevin Loaec, and a thought-provoking panel on Bitcoin’s Future in EU Mining featuring Lyudmyla Kozlovska and others. Speakers such as Janusz G. from LX Research Labs and Jack Mallers from Strike also provided insights into Bitcoin’s technical and practical aspects of evolution. At the same time, the Gamification for Mass Adoption panel resonated with our marketplace’s mission. See participations list here https://b.tc/conference/amsterdam/agenda
For us, the event was crucial not only to engage with our daily users and strengthen partnerships from previous campaigns but also to get first-hand insights from the broader Bitcoin community.
The Booth Experience
Our booth was set up strategically at the event entrance, near Kraken’s branded space, ensuring high visibility and foot traffic. The booth served as a central hub for engaging with the community and showcasing our marketplace’s offerings, especially focusing on rare sats, ordinals, and runes.
We also distributed over 200+ physical books, guiding new users who had never interacted with Magisat through step-by-step processes.
For our loyal users of our marketplace, we handed out over 150+ branded t-shirts, creating an opportunity for community engagement. Those unable to take the book home due to its physical nature were given access to a digital copy of maginook, extending the educational value beyond the conference walls.
Engaging with the Community: Collaborations and Connections
Interacting with other projects and communities was one of the most enriching aspects of our experience at Bitcoin Amsterdam. Many Bitcoin enthusiasts and Anons stopped by our booth, eager to learn more about rare sats—an area where our marketplace is a pioneering leader. We were thrilled to educate them on the possibilities and innovations surrounding rare sats, ordinals, and runes.
Beyond our booth, we engaged in meaningful conversations with other projects. The sense of collaboration was intense as we exchanged ideas on upcoming features, listened to other projects’ visions, and explored potential collaborations. Interactions with mining solutions providers, educational initiatives, and custodial services helped us gather a wide range of feedback on how we can enhance our platform. This feedback has already been added to our to-do list, ensuring that we continuously refine and evolve based on community needs.
Our participation in Bitcoin Amsterdam reinforced our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what bitcoin marketplaces can achieve, keeping innovation, community, and user experience at the forefront.
Key Takeaways: Insights from the Community
The event highlighted the growing interest in rare sats, with many attendees eager to learn more about their potential. As the first marketplace to support rare sats, it was a pleasure sharing our expertise and explaining the unique value of these rare digital assets. One participant commented, “Rare sats seem to be the next evolution of Bitcoin collectibles, bridging scarcity with innovation.”
Community discussions also emphasized the importance of decentralization and user empowerment in shaping future marketplaces. A speaker noted, “Bitcoin’s core strength is allowing users full control without intermediaries.” This aligns with our mission.
Attendees were also excited about innovations like Ordinals and Runes, which are gaining traction. Despite challenges, the sentiment was clear—user-friendly platforms will drive broader adoption. These insights reinforce our commitment to rare sats and our role in pushing boundaries within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Future Plans and Vision: What’s Next for Magisat.io?

Additionally, we aim to incorporate new tools and innovations that cater to the broader Bitcoin community’s needs, emphasizing transparency, security, and ease of use. This aligns perfectly with our mission to lead the space in Bitcoin collectibles and marketplace innovations while remaining dedicated to decentralization and user empowerment.
